CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 2010) – The 16th Anniversary Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America is challenging community members along the 2010 Ride route to take part in a grassroots awareness and fundraising effort. The funds raised through the Charity Ride Dream Team Challenge will support Victory Junction, a year-round camp for children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses and other children’s charities. Teams are encouraged to register at www.kylepettrycharityride.com/dream_team.

Led by NASCAR driver and racing analyst Kyle Petty, the Ride will depart Indian Wells, Calif., on May 1, and travel east, making overnight stops in North Las Vegas, Nev.; Richfield, Utah; Durango, Colo.; Amarillo, Texas; Texarkana, Texas; Choctaw, Miss.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Asheville, N.C.; before reaching Victory Junction on May 9. Prior to the Ride’s arrival in these cities, community members are invited to form “Dream Teams” to raise funds for and awareness of the Ride and its beneficiaries. Dream Teams will be invited to present donations to Kyle Petty and Ride participants at special events along the Ride route.

“Communities are encouraged to spread the word about the Ride prior to our arrival and assist us in getting these Dream Teams excited about helping kids,” said Petty. “The funds collected will go towards providing life-changing opportunities for deserving children and their families. Every little bit helps. It’s all about making a difference in a kids’ life.”

In 2009, donations from The Dream Team Challenge totaled more than $10,000. Teams of all ages and sizes are welcome to participate in the Charity Ride Dream Team Challenge and may register on the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Web site. Registration is free. Registered teams will receive “Dream Team Packs” containing background information on the Charity Ride and Victory Junction, as well as ongoing updates and fundraising tips.

Fundraising efforts should begin after a team has selected a captain and team members have reviewed the information in the Dream Team Pack. Then, the sky is the limit! From bake sales and lemonade stands to black-tie galas and silent auctions, teams should choose fundraising activities that align with individual members’ interests and strengths.

Teams from around the country are encouraged to participate, and those along the Ride route may join riders at pre-determined stops. Collected donations should be mailed to Kyle Petty Charity Ride, Inc., 125 Floyd Smith Drive, Suite 45, Charlotte, NC 28262. Checks should be made payable to “Kyle Petty Charity Ride, Inc.”

Since Victory Junction’s inception, the Charity Ride has sent more than 7,000 children to the life-changing camp at no cost to their families. Petty and his wife, Pattie, founded Victory Junction in Randleman, N.C., in 2004. The year-round camp serves children, ages six to 16, with a variety of health issues that would typically prevent them from attending camp. The camp operates solely on the donations of corporations, organizations and individuals.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 8, 2009) – The Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America is counting down the days until its official departure from Stevenson, Wash., on May 8. One month from today – and exactly 15 years since the inaugural Kyle Petty Charity Ride left Sacramento, Calif., on its first cross-country journey – NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and more than 200 Ride participants will begin their 3,500-mile trek from the state of Washington to Greensboro, N.C.
The 15th anniversary Ride benefits Victory Junction and other children’s charities. Petty and his wife, Pattie, founded Victory Junction in Randleman, N.C., in 2004. The year-round camp serves children ages 6 to 16, with serious health issues, at no cost to their families. The Petty’s plans to open a second Victory Junction will come to fruition on May 13 when the Ride stops in Kansas City, Kan., to participate in a ceremonial groundbreaking celebration at the site of the new camp.
Since its inception, the Ride has visited 49 states and donated more than $12 million to children’s charities. Riders have traveled approximately 7.9 million cumulative motorcycle miles, and 13 riders have participated all 15 years. This year, notable Ride participants include NASCAR legend Harry Gant, Chick-fil-A President and COO Dan Cathy, football great Herschel Walker and PGA Tour Professional Davis Love III.
“It’s hard to believe we’ve been crisscrossing the country on our bikes for 15 years,” said Petty. “We have a great time, but it’s really all about the kids. We’ve seen so many lives touched through Victory Junction and the other charities we’ve partnered with over the years. Pattie and I are looking forward to many more successful Rides. These riders make kids’ dreams come true.”
Communities along the Ride route are encouraged to be a part of the Charity Ride though the Charity Ride Dream Team Challenge, which challenges community members to form teams to raise funds and awareness for the Charity Ride and its beneficiaries. Registered teams will receive “Dream Team Packs” containing information on the Charity Ride, Victory Junction and the children who benefit, as well

as ongoing updates, fundraising tips and inspirational Victory Junction camper stories. For more information and team registration, visit www.kylepettycharityride.com
“We’ve already seen a wonderful response from communities across the country in the second year of the Charity Ride Dream Team Challenge,” said Petty. “From the ‘Stevenson Dream Team’ in Washington state to the ‘Make-a-Difference Team’ in Charlotte, N.C., people are working hard to support the Ride and spread the word about our arrival in their communities. I hope even more Dream Teams will join us and get excited about helping children with serious medical conditions.”

The 14th Anniversary Charity Ride benefits Victory Junction Gang Camp and other children’s charities. Petty and his wife, Pattie, founded the Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, N.C., in 2004. The year-round camp serves children with serious health issues, ages 7 to 15, at no cost to their families.  Dean Kessel, former director of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series sponsorship for Sprint, was named president of the camp earlier this year.
The Pettys recently announced plans to open a second Victory Junction Gang Camp in Wyandotte County, Kan. Mike Lepore, former executive vice president of Institutional Lending for Wells Fargo, has been named president of the new camp.
“Pattie, Mike and I are hard at work on our plans for the new Victory Junction Gang Camp and are so grateful for the support of participants and donors to the Charity Ride for helping make this vision a reality,” said Petty. “We’re excited about bringing the Victory Junction experience to a new region of the country and empowering even more children to achieve their dreams.”
Communities along the Ride route are encouraged to become involved in this year’s Charity Ride though the Charity Ride Dream Team Challenge, which challenges community members to form teams to raise funds for and awareness of the Charity Ride and its beneficiaries. Teams may register for free at www.kylepettycharityride.com. Registered teams will receive “Dream Team Packs” containing

background information on the Charity Ride, Victory Junction Gang Camp and Charity Ride sponsors, as well as ongoing updates, fundraising tips and inspirational Victory Junction camper stories.
“We’ve already seen a wonderful response to our inaugural Charity Ride Dream Team Challenge,” said Petty. “From the KLT Pitstop Dream Team in Traverse City to the Raleigh HOGs, Dream Teams across the country have come up with creative ways to raise money for this year’s Charity Ride. I hope even more Dream Teams will join us to support children with serious medical conditions. Every penny counts.”
Collected donations may be mailed to Kyle Petty Charity Ride, Inc., 125 Floyd Smith Drive, Suite 45, Charlotte, NC 28262. Checks should be made payable to “Kyle Petty Charity Ride, Inc.” and indicate “Charity Ride Dream Team Challenge” in the “For” line. For more information on the Charity Ride Dream Team Challenge, visit www.kylepettycharityride.com
Fans, media and Charity Ride supporters are invited to participate in the Ride – virtually – at www.kylepettycharityride.com. The Virtual Ride allows users to view video footage, photos, Kyle’s daily blog entries and sound clips from each day’s adventures on the road.

Since the Charity Ride’s inception in 1995, 5,700 participants have logged more than 7.2 million cumulative motorcycle miles and donated more than $10.5 million to Victory Junction Gang Camp and other charities that support chronically ill children. Petty and his wife, Pattie, founded the Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, N.C., in 2004. The year-round camp serves children, ages 7 to 15, with a variety of health issues that would typically prevent them from attending camp. The camp operates solely on the donations of corporations, organizations and individuals. The Pettys recently announced the opening of a second Victory Junction Gang Camp in Wyandotte County, Kan.

Pattie and I are constantly amazed and inspired by the dedication of our riders, sponsors and fans,” said Petty. “These companies and individuals are truly committed to bettering the lives of deserving children and their families. We’re looking forward to another great event – and more incredible results!”

Chick-fil-A President and Chief Operating Officer Dan Cathy will join Petty on the Charity Ride. This year marks Chick-fil-A’s fifth year as the event’s title sponsor, and the company has extended its sponsorship agreement through 2009.

We at Chick-fil-A are grateful for the opportunity to once again be the title sponsor of the Kyle Petty Charity Ride,” Cathy said. “Chick-fil-A is proud to be associated with such a worthy cause and is eagerly anticipating another exciting Ride.”

Riders will make a pit stop at Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman on July 17 during a camp session designed for children with physical disabilities. As a result of the 2007 Charity Ride’s efforts, 80 children will attend this five-day session free of charge.

Fans and spectators along the Charity Ride route can support Victory Junction Gang Camp through the Charity Ride’s “Small Change. Big Impact.” program. In 2007, donations from the “Small Change. Big Impact.” program alone totaled more than $64,000.

Additional sponsors of the 2008 Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America include Coca-Cola, Pilot Travel Centers LLC, Wells Fargo, Manheim, Racing Electronics, Dodge Motorsports, Wincraft Racing and FLUIDYNE Racing Products.
